Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Got questions about chiropractic care after an accident?
Here are the most common questions answered, so you know what to expect and how to start your recovery safely and confidently.
Where can I start chiropractic treatment after a car accident?
Depending on your situation and care needs, you can choose from three options:
Visit our main office
Come to one of our mobile clinics on the weekend
Receive in-home care through our mobile clinic service
Can I receive treatment if the accident was my fault and I want to use my own insurance?
It depends, but in many cases, yes. Some insurance policies include a benefit called MedPay, which may cover personal injury treatment regardless of who was at fault.
Do I need a claim number to schedule an appointment?
No, you don’t need a claim number to schedule your appointment. In fact, the sooner you're evaluated, the better. If you don’t have a claim number yet, we can help guide you through the process of obtaining one.
Can a passenger in my car receive chiropractic care if I was at fault?
Yes. Your passengers are also entitled to medical care. In many cases, your auto insurance policy with MedPay coverage can cover their chiropractic treatment, even if you were at fault. This allows them to receive care without out-of-pocket costs while the case is handled.
Can I receive chiropractic care even if I don’t feel pain but was in an accident?
Yes—and it's highly recommended. Many accident-related injuries, such as sprains, microtears, or spinal misalignments, may not cause immediate pain. However, over time they can lead to chronic discomfort or reduced mobility. Early evaluation helps detect and treat these issues before they worsen.
Do I need to pay anything when scheduling a post-accident appointment?
If you were found "not at fault" in the accident, you won’t have to pay for your medical expenses out of pocket. The responsible party’s insurance company will be responsible for covering the cost of your treatment with us.
If I use my MedPay coverage, will it increase my insurance premium?
The short answer is no. While insurance premiums may rise over time for various reasons, using your MedPay to cover medical expenses after an accident where you weren’t at fault should not be the direct cause. This type of claim isn’t tied to negligence on your part, so it shouldn’t negatively impact your insurance record.
How soon after an accident can I begin treatment?
The sooner you begin treatment, the better your clinical outcome. Starting chiropractic care as early as possible helps prevent long-term complications, supports more effective recovery, and strengthens your medical case by avoiding a large gap between the accident and your first visit.
Is it required to have a lawyer to receive care at your office or mobile clinics?
No, it’s not required. Many of our patients choose to deal directly with the insurance company. However, if you’d like legal representation, we can connect you with trusted local attorneys.
Do you work with liens? Do you offer care with no upfront cost to the patient?
Yes, we work with liens. If the patient is determined to be not at fault in the accident, we provide chiropractic care at no direct cost to them. We accept the case under a lien agreement, meaning we won’t charge for our services until the legal case is settled and the patient reaches Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI). This allows patients to receive the care they need right away without financial worry during the legal process.
